LIFESTYLE CHECK IN by Monica Ioanitescu

The 2nd Women Entrepreneur Check In was held on Thursday, March 24, at Heritage Hotel Santa Lucia. The Women Entrepreneur Check In is organized under the Lifestyle Check In brand, which organizes a series of B2B & B2C events focused on international fashion, beauty, and lifestyle companies, held in standout venues from galleries to yachts and hotels. This event aims to raise awareness about women entrepreneurs and affirm their role in the Croatian and Dalmatian economies.

Thursday’s event was moderated by Total Croatia News COO Daniela Rogulj and included 3 panels featuring speakers from Croatia and the United States. Questions were directed to the audience after each speaker finished, and the panels were followed by art, music, and networking breaks that lasted 15 minutes.

The first panel included Mirela Krstulovic, the Regional Director for SME business in Dalmatia at Raiffeisenbank Austria d.d, the sponsor of the event. Mirela spoke about Raiffeisenbank’s support to women entrepreneurs and the various programs available to women in Croatia. The second speaker was Mislava Zuppa, head of Sales and Marketing at Dalmacija Danas, who shared the differences between TV and online marketing and touched on the future trends in the digital marketing world. The first panel ended with Sara Dyson, founder of one of Croatia’s top English-language resources for bureaucracy and assimilation, Expat in Croatia, whose animated speech analyzed the four different types of entrepreneurs in Croatia.

The first panel closed with a presentation of the medicinal slimming tea VeroSlim Romania and live music by 14-year-old pianist Lucija Šestan.

The second, keynote panel featured Neissa Gallahar, an MBA, ACC, and ICF certified professional and executive coach focused on human resource development for leaders, staff, teams, and volunteers. Neissa delivered a powerful speech on how to navigate conversations when emotions are intense, the stakes are high, and there is a difference of opinions. Neissa was followed by Vanja Bralo, owner of CS Management, who went into the details of EU funds and how to prepare projects for the upcoming tenders in the 2021 - 2027 financial perspective, which welcomed several questions from the audience.

The second panel was closed by Split multimedia artist Andrea Resner, whose themes touch on women, the experience of women, and the traumas that this experience brings, and a fashion show by the Croatian Brand Teralli by Vukusic, founded by Dora and Lara Vukušić to maintain the vision of their late mother and long-time award-winning fashion designer.

The final panel of the day featured Nataša Bušić, advisor on tourism issues within the Croatian Chamber of Economy, Split County Chamber, who spoke about the long lineage of support for women entrepreneurs with the Split Chamber of Commerce, and Jana Jonjic, who has worked in textiles for over 20 years and recently opened Gerry Weber at Joker Shopping Mall in Split. The event came to an end with two songs by Michalis Patterson, an American international touring artist that has toured over 16 countries as a solo act and with world-renowned musicians.
